Portland’s Affordable Housing Includes 2,090 Units in Buildings That Would Crumble in a Big Earthquake

Four years ago, scientists reported that at any unforeseen time an earthquake could cause over 1,600 unreinforced buildings in Portland to crumble.  This article addresses Portland’s response, and how new safety requirements could cost the city a great deal of money.
