Buildings that Clear the Air
The Wall Street Journal recently posted an article we thought you may find interesting. An apartment building in Manhattan is the first of its kind to utilize titanium dioxide, a common ingredient in sunscreen, on its exterior. When applied the titanium dioxide reacts with sunlight to not only clean the structure itself, but also to purify the air around it. Part of a project known as iScape that helps cities develop sustainable strategies to fight air pollution,the results could have dramatic effects environmentally.
